The renovation project was aimed for shifting of employee of Nepal Oil Corporation Ltd ( NOC) corporate building from Babarmahal to Teku premises until the completion of NOC’s new corporate building at Babarmahal, Kathmandu. For this purpose, office building (first and top floor), warehouse A and parking area was designed for NOC office, whereas warehouse B was designed for the Nepal Police so as to shift from office building. After the completion of phase I i.e. detailed engineering phase, phase II i.e. construction supervision was started at 2077/04/01. During the initial period of a month, the work pace was not visible due to various circumstances such as covid lockdown in the valley, site obstruction, unavailable materials etc. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the space primarily designed for Supply and Distribution and LPG and Aviation department was allocated for isolation ward of NOC. In 23th Poush, 2077, the whole area on the north side of the warehouse A was flooded with main sewer line of the whole Teku area causing a massive setback in the project. For the time being, a diversion channel was created from north to south on the east of warehouse A to minimize the flooding. In search of the cause, excavation was done for finding the alignment of main sewer line in downstream in the petrol pump area which was diverting with a ninty degree angle with no man hole causing a massive bottleneck in the sewer. Consultant suggested for the new sewer line with proper manhole and use of hume pipe instead of previous brick masonry drainage line, which later was constructed on the next project by NOC ultimately solving the massive issue of drainage which would have affected ultimately every household of Teku area.
